I sold 600,000 shares of Karrie (1050.HK) but still own 900,000 shares. My investment thesis on the company remains the same, though I suspect that its 1Q performance (Apr-Jun'09) will not be very good. So while I'm optimistic in the medium-term, I'm cautious in the short-term.
I have used the proceeds from the partial Karrie sale to buy Dream (1126.HK), which I believe to possess a lot of upside ($0.29 -> $1.00 in two years). As I said on my previous two posts, share price will shoot through the moon when the Company resumes dividends and announces strong results. That may not be for interim 2009 (to be announced in late Sept 2009) but much more likely for full year 2009 (to be reported in March 2010). What I'm doing now is just to put my chips in and wait.
I have four holdings right now (Karrie, Dream, Bosideng, Emperor) in approximately equal shares. Out of the four, I think that Bosideng has the least upside. Emperor will report stellar results for interim 2009 (Apr-Sep'09) in Dec'09. So I am considering to buy more right before the announcement to capture the upside. Dream and Karrie are fine as medium-term recovery plays and can be held for up to two years.
